Getting to Northumberland is very easy, no matter whether you're starting out from the north or from the south. Ideally, all you need do is put NE48 2JT into your SatNav and it should bring you straight to the door! But, just to be sure, here are some directions:

 

• Directions (e.g. from south)

• Take the A1 north towards Newcastle

• Cross the River Tyne just after the Blaydon Bridge (by B&Q Warehouse)

• Take the left-hand slip-road (west) towards Hexham (A69)

• Continue for about 11½ miles to the “Styford” roundabout

• Stay on the A69 towards Hexham for about 2½ more miles

• Take the left-hand slip-road marked Jedburgh/Otterburn (A68)

• Follow the A68 due north for about 12 miles

• You will then see a turning to the left for Bellingham

• Follow this road for about 5 miles

• Drive through the centre of the village, past the Town Hall

• Half a mile further on, turn right towards Kielder

• Soon, on your left, you will see the Riverdale Hall Hotel

• Ostler's Cottage is directly opposite (with off-road parking)
